Hi Liz

We did have a few issues at Highrange.... Owen VK2OD who a lot of us know did a lot of homework on this location as it is direct earshot to his iGate. if you have a read on his blog all his findings
are there to read ....it was a combination of errors and not any 1 locations fault, its a good read.

Dom VK2HJ and Owen VK2OD worked together on the last lot of changes in the config and all looks to be running very well.

I didnt see much APRS stuff at Wyong this year......

Justin, I see that VK2RHR-1 uses one of those according to the web site. It used to bounce packets around with the digipeater on Macquarie Pass, resulting in receiving packets several times.
As you have a lot of experience with the hardware, would this be a misconfiguration?

I have used almost all the config's and they all have pros n cons.

I look after a few remote locations that I have had to make a 4 hour return trip home for a simple reboot..... so it all depends on your application and if you have access at your finger tips.

Putting that aside .... we have changed all out digi's and igates to these little devices with good results

Im not saying they are the "Best Outcome" around but they work VERY well.

Can (both of you) tell us more about your computer and radio experience?
I can tell you what works well under Linux, and what hardware I am using, but I can't tell you about Mac and Win systems, nor can I advise on antennae or how to modify your radio - I get help with that!

Give us some idea about your current knowledge, and where you see the gaps.
