[OZAPRS] Feedback on VX-8

Today, I pulled my VX-8GR apart, checked the springs and did as the YouTube mod that Gerard posted did suggest. The max audio is the same level, still.......
So, that did nothing at all, the feedback problem is still there. My radio being a GR model is a little different to the VX-8, and the newer VX-8DR model.
My radio is obviously faulty as feedback should not occur on receive. The volume menu settings run from 1 to 32, any setting above 26 causes feedback.......which then gets worse as you raise the receive volume setting, higher.
Somehow the mic audio line is coupling to the audio amp circuit that drives the speaker, when a signal is being received on the louder settings.
Unfortunately, the volume level is too low to hear properly, when the settings are much below 25.
Strangely, the feedback does not occur at all, if you press the monitor button and receive loud unsquelched noise, it only happens when a signal is being received.
So it could be a design problem or, my radio is faulty. I am not sure IF anyone else has the feedback problem, my dealer has not heard of it.
Might have to send it to Vertex and let them check it out. I still stand by my assessment of this radio as in my case it has given me trouble, but I would like to think it's only a fault, that can hopefully be repaired.

Jack. VK4JRC
