I agree completely. I live in Kuranda and, as you can imagine, local 
APRS traffic is "light". Previously I lived in Melbourne under the call 
VK3DLH. What you are doing makes sense as opposed to situation where the 
RF is swamped by meaningless packets - a situation I have seen in some 
areas. In those cases it appears the iGate has been set up to satisfy 
the desire of someone to just see traffic for its own sake.
