[OZAPRS] Proposed digi for Mt Nardi

If it’s a VK2 digi I’d suggest -1, as that is what every other VK2 digipeater has been configured with.

The original idea was that -1 was the primary digi on a site, with -2 and -3 being used If there were more than one digi per site (e.g. 6m/70cm)

Somewhere along the process VK4 standardised on -3 for digis, which is also fine….

Steve,

I would use -3 as thats what most up here use

That's what I thought - but when I looked up the aprs.net.au site http://aprs.net.au/general/standard-ssids it gives -1 "Digipeater, or Home Station running a Fill-In Digi" and -3 as "Digipeater".

Not quite enough info for me to differentiate;-)

G'day Ray - all looking good, one final question should the SSID be VK2RPL-1 or -3?

I'm leaning towards -1, but am happy to be corrected before it is written in and sent on it's way;-)

Steve,

83m is 272 ft, close enough to the 300 I guessed.

800m is a tad higher than what SPLAT! (and Google earth) thinks it is but still close enough, especially given the step sizes available for HAAT and Power.

HAAT - Height Above Average Terrain

Pick 0dB gain and the nearest height and you won't be too far off. It's only a guide.

The tech got back to me with the following:

"Antenna Gain is going to be 3db to start with but then unity when we get around to putting the 2m repeater up there , HAAT not
sure what it means but antenna hight is 83m above ground or 883m above sea level"

Sound about right?
