Hi All,

A week or so back I changed the radio at VK2RMC-1 from an FM828 to an 
FM92 plus an external pre-amp. Rx sensitivity is around 5dB better, 
coming in at around 0.08uV. I mounted two additional BNC sockets on the 
FM92 to provide for pre-amp in and out.

Over the last week I had the opportunity to track vk3ble-9 as he 
wandered around the Port Macquarie area. Unless he was running a 
kilowatt, coverage in that area is very significantly improved, even 
down to the North Haven/Laurieton area. I have yet to see a mobile north 
of Kempsey but based on what's happening to the south I would expect 
reasonable results up to Nambucca Heads. I may have to go for a drive 
myself.

I am still to find time to replace the mast at the digi site. The digi 
antenna will be at least another ten feet higher, and maybe a bit more 
if I decide a 3dB stack I have here is mechanically suitable to have the 
UHF CB repeater rx antenna mounted on top of it.

I hope to have my Site-Alert finished and installed at the site within 
the next week or so, depending on how many wheels fall off other 
commitments.
