Hi all,

Id just like to clarify that we have a truley excellent access rate on 30m
nowadays. Looking at past logs for various Northern Flinders trips and
Innaminka trips Ive done over the past couple of years I can say that posit
to HF gate success rate would be very very close to 100 percent. In fact
just looking at one of my last track logs on aprs.fi for a Flinders trip we
did last month, the tracking was excedingly good with only a couple of
missed posits. I was running a 5 minute beacon rate at about 20 watts on
that trip. Probably a bit quick for general use on 30m, but it gives a good
indication of how reliable 30m HF aprs is nowadays.
So perhaps when we refer to poor RX success rates we need to clarify that a
bit more as to what bands we're talking about etc. !!

Regards .. Andrew .. VK5EX
