[OZAPRS] Alpine Rally - APRS & RF conditions

Hi All,

I see the single freq as the greatest benefit overall, where stations
can travel anywhere and have a local system feed 'em into the network..

Ahh you say but the long range interference.. Well how about thinking
about how often this propagation occurs, and lets not forget capture
effect on FM receivers..

I certainly don't know all the answers but I am yet to be convinced the
changes to the network are a real problem!!!!

Dick,

You bet I am.

Now that APRS in Australia is on the same frequency we are all on the
one
Big National APRS Network and should respect and appreciate it.

What you do locally in your town will have an effect on a station in
Perth
or Brisbane if the conditions are right. No one is isolated on their own
network anymore, unless you change frequency to something other than the
National APRS Frequency.

As I stated in the email I did not for see the issue until it occurred.
I
though that in the spirit of Amateur Radio and assisting our neighbours
there may have been some positive results to my request. May be I was
wrong.

In the future there will need to be some pre-event cooperative
coordination
for the National Network we all now have. This will assist use in
helping
each other.

Cheers
Richard
