Ach, Just stirring the pot Brian,
Actually, I can hear several stations on 10.147 down here. Just wanted
to see if Andrew was going to confess to applying a bit of power to his
inverted vee. ;-)
How could anyone resist?
As far as the station location, VK1AC should be showing up on APRS as a
WX station and VK1AC-1 as the digi for traffic on the Federal Highway.
I cover the 2M shadow area along Lake George from Collector to Gearys
Gap and fill a small hole in the system. As the crow flys, drawing a
line 6kms west of the southern tip of Lake George would put you in my
front paddock.
Yes, I'm very familiar with the Bungendore SES. My wife is a volunteer
and I play the "Lost Soul" when they run the certification tests for
land search, etc.. Gives me a chance to practise some of those
camouflage techniques I was taught some years ago and it gives the SES
trainees a good workout. I remember those two fishermen going lost.
Can't trust that lake when it has water in it. Especially with the
submerged fences going all the way across.
Today, Lake George is bone dry and has been for some years now.
Bungendore keeps expanding and they keep drilling deeper into the
aquafier. The old mine at Woodlawn has been turned into a Biogas
generator (read: Sydney garbage dump) and I worry about the leachate
getting into the Lake George aquafier.
But I digress.. I'm getting very off topic here..
Cheers,
Alex - VK1AC
