[OZAPRS] 40m APRS Gate

As I mentioned in an earlier posting I am looking at running a temorary
experiment on 40m using the APRS frequency there..

Ive allready have a TNC beaconing on there periodically but so far no
Gateways have picked me up and Ive picked nothing else up.. Its been
running
about 4 days non stop allready..

Is ZL3RX still running on there at all ? Can sombody tell me? Maybee I am
on
the wrong frequency.. The PK232 is on 7036.51 as recomended.. I thought I
may see the odd frame off ZL3RX at dawn and dusk but Ive heard very little
activity on there at all ..

As expected the general noise on there is at higher levels than 30m .

I am running about 70w into a dipole that favors VK2 VK3 and VK4
basically..
The TNC has an alias of ECHO and beacons periodically..

Later this week (maybee Thursday Friday 15 and 16th) I will open a Gateway
and start messing about with the mobile tracker and also UI-View in the
mobile..

I am interested to see whats possible in the less than 1000km or so radius
from VK5 and comparing this with previous findings on 30m.. I have some
Jobs
around town.. Some are 60km plus away from here and Ive tried using 30m
over
that sort of distance with very limited results over hilly terrain.. 40m
should in theory be better but we shall see..

Andrew 5EX is going for a drive again soon and also may have a go on 40m
APRS.. Maybee see some of you on 40m soon.. Come and have a play..

I will let you know via this list when the 40m Gate is active .. Until
then
the TNC beacon remains on there..
