Hi Noel

I know that you would have personally read the following elsewhere but
here it is again for those who would not have done so.
A little additional information added see below.

Copy of an earlier message

Makes no difference at all whether USB or LSB as long as you are netted to
the same frequency, whilst with the mobile I use LSB here in the shack I
use either only for the reason that at odd times one or other would appear
to be a benefit if there is interference around.

I guess the same thing applies to the Tones saga here again it does not
really matter what pair you use as long as you are netted to the same
frequency.

I operate on both 30m, which I far prefer, and 40m which is not so good
mainly due to the longer distances involved here in VK and even more so
the high noise level here on 40m.

Originally on 30m I netted to VK3MY/VK4DMI and on 40m I netted to
VK4DMI/ZL??? the ZL call eludes me just at present and this is what I
recommend that every one should do VK3MY/VK4DMI on 30m and VK4DMI/ZL??? on
40m for if we all go out on our own and do our own thing I guarantee 90%
will never ever be on the same frequency.

Please note that due to extensive storm damage and the need to remove
12-16m high trees from his back yard VK4DMI unfortunately is not
operational and possibly will not be so for a little while to come.

You know I see a lot of talk, comments and some wanting to put their two
bobs worth in regarding HF APRS but have never seen most of those doing so
ever on HF wish they would join us there, eh? Noel.

I guess that is my two bobs worth.

Additional to original

In addition to the above I copy here in the shack.
On 30M without changing frequency at all VK4DMI, VK3MY, VK3WRM and when
mobile VK4BBS-11 and VK4DMI-11 I do not personally recall copying any
other stations on 30m.
On 40m I have only copied the ZL station, VK4DMI, VK4AGS and both
VK4DMI-11 and VK4BBS-11 when mobile. Does not say much for HF activity eh?

The following may also be of interest in the shack:

Using DSP-12 TNC
300 baud
Tones 2125/2325
FT-897 Reads:
40m 7.036.53 LSB or 7.034.42 USB
30m 10.149.90 LSB or 10.147.60 USB

Just gone out and checked the actual frequencies read on the IC-706 that I
use together with e Tigertronics TM-1 for mobile use these frequencies
were found after netting to those stations mentioned above, looking on the
net or via Findu to see my callsign appearing regularly after I netted
myself in.

40m 7.035.53 LSB
30m 10.148.60 USB

The differences between the Fixed station and Mobile station are brought
about by the different tone pair used in the DSP-12 and TM-1 but as both
are netted as mentioned above does not effect the outcome one little bit.

I also at time use the notebook and OziEplorer Moving Maps when mobile
over longer trips would be great if one could see, like UI-View etc, other
mobiles with OziEplorer whilst mobile.
