I just checked the MX614 Data Sheet
It only does 1200/2200Hz tones so it is unusable for HF.
Components above 3400Hz are -33dB.

I gather the two tones for the 300 Baud AFSK are produced via the standard

bit resistive ladder.
Do you have any specification for the purity of the generated tones? ie,
what is the audio S/N ratio?
Also, what tone frequencies are used? (1600 & 1800?)
