[OZAPRS] Direwolf config help

I’m currently targeting RGI with object beacons for the WARC linked voice repeaters but when the Wagga digi is again working and the planned Bethungra digi is installed then those digis will instead be targeted so that the beacons don’t unnecessarily go east of the Brindabellas.

There haven't been all that many fires in the ACT, so the ESA feed has been quiet on that front. Rarely more than 3-4 objects at any given time.

It did go wild with storm jobs after that massive hailstorm.

ESA tweak the feed fairly regularly, so what goes out varies from time to time. Storm jobs are a recent addition, so I didn't see that coming; sorry about the volume!

A local repeat path for the ESA feed is probably best, ie via VK1RBM-1 explicitly. I don't think anything in that feed is likely to be of interest west of the Brindabellas.

Fantastic. Thanks. I’ll have a deeper look at that data. - that’s a separate stream of data in testing via vk1xt - from ESA’s website on the things they are doing, from dog bites to house fires.

The polygons are an interesting beast. Myself and 1MA noted on say xastir being fed by Direwolf they appear one minute. Gone the next. When they were visible there interesting. The line colour around the fire edge even was the same as the standard alert colours and relevant to that fire - blue, yellow, red etc.

I have also been in contact with the AU WX BOT developer to make sure I am using the service to the best of my ability.

The WX BOT data goes out roughly every 15 mins from that data stream so yes, every fire within 100km of RGI during jan every 15mins was overwhelming to say the least. I am sorry for the data hog on the air, but as you note it was the quantity of the fires / data going out.

  Thanks again

The volume of alerts during the fires was rather overwhelming due to the sheer number of fires. I didn’t see any polygons and the original fire positions didn’t give any indication as to the current fronts. How might the polygons be viewed?

    Thanks Graeme,

Could you grab me a screenshot of it. I have a feeling it might be a polygon and an object going out together but I would love to see the raw stuff.
    Any further comments?

      Hello Wade,

Seeing as you asked, are you aware that your alerts are still going out in duplicate?

      Hi All,

So my APRS / WX / FIREALERT system was running all over the horror summer period.

I know there was some discussion about double packets etc, other than that did anyone have any feedback on the system?

      Did you find it useful?

To give a bit more context about what the system was doing:

      * TX NSWRFS, ACTESA and CFA fires as objects, 100km around the VK1RGI location
      * TX NSWRFS, ACTESA and CFA fires, 100km around the VK1RGI location as polygons showing *very* rough fire size
      * TX BOM weather alerts within 100km around the VK1RGI location

      Thanks

Thanks to all that helped. I now have all fire and serve weather going out with a range of 150km from the location of VK1RGI-1 (picked for testing) - the server seems to re transmit and therefore broadcast the alerts at Minute 16,36,47 and 2(?) approx of the hour so if there is a lot of fires or alerts within that 150km range it cant be abit of a blast of data going out.

I am happy to share my config file for any one to use for their igates
