So you wouldn't be frightened by learning Linux for the RPi. I haven't found a non-computer solution for an iGate.  

I'm at Wyong today, so if anything strikes my fancy as a more "ready to go" solution I will be taking it home.

Trained as Radio Tech in the Raaf,
Then did Radio install and maintaince for telecom and now Telstra.
So total of around 38 yrs in Radio, Computer again around 35yrswith all dos
machinces and old commodore 64, micobees.

More trying to stay away from the computer with the Igate, but if need be,
will use a computer.

Can (both of you) tell us more about your computer and radio experience?
I can tell you what works well under Linux, and what hardware I am using,
but I can't tell you about Mac and Win systems, nor can I advise on antennae
or how to modify your radio - I get help with that!

Give us some idea about your current knowledge, and where you see the gaps.
