[OZAPRS] VK2RCC not working

David,

You seem to have flown off at a bit of a tangent. Nobody has complained
about any digi being missing and nobody has mentioned the world
stopping. I asked the question if there was a problem with vk2rcc-1,
having driven under its footprint and having not been seen. The answer I
received was that the receiver appeared to be deaf. End of story, nobody
jumped up and down, nobody accused anybody of anything. If anything
there was appreciation of the work involved in keeping remote systems on
air. I did say that coverage in those remote parts was good and would
have been exceptional had rcc been working. Not a complaint, more a
statement of praise for that system and it's potential.

As for HF (read 30m) it is grossly below saturation level and I doubt
that we'll ever reach saturation given the low number of users - now and
future - and the difficulty in setting up a mobile rig/antenna, compared
with vhf. BTW, HF works equally well in all areas of Australia - city or
outback - due to the spread of gateways around Oz (I was one of them for
many years and will be again soon.

If I remember correctly you and I exchanged numerous emails a few years
back regarding an FM828.

Take heart mate, nobody was criticising.

Regards
Ray vk2tv
