[OZAPRS] Underway at last with APRS

Finally got the mobile APRS running.
Lots of trial and lots more error trying to run the transceiver,
somewhat more complicated than my 1980s one.

Can someone kindly explain this bit (from aprs.fi)

What's qAR ?
I think I get the WIDE bit.
Because I was driving on the edge of repeater coverage I set the rig to
digipeat. Not that I noticed anyone else near me at all who might have
benefited from such a service.
I presume this isn't a good idea if heading into the city.

And thanks to the operators of the IGates along the way at Orange and
Parkes as well as one in VK3 and one in VK1 for supplying a service.
I did try to send a message but it was too big a step for a first
outing with a new rig.
