Yes I’m beginning to think its the Nuvi that may be at fault myself. Is there anyway of testing the Nuvi 350 at all?

G'day Scott, it's got me stumped - obviously it's working in as much as data is moving from the Nuvi to RF and from RF to the Nuvi, just no waypoints.

I'm wondering if it's something like the file that holds the graphics for waypoints is missing or some similar issue with the Nuvi itself?

I've never had to adjust the OT or the radio levels.

Can you send to the VX8 from the OT/Nuvi/Radio combo?

      Steve,
Yes, it is set up as your email says - waypoint out is on (character length 9). Despatch menu is up & running, I can receive a msg from my VX8GR ok, just no display of POI.

What level do you have the audio set at?

      Cheers,

      Scott

Hehe, just testing - that is the correct cable (sorry about that!) Garmin 010-10813-00 Mini-B Data Cable.

First question, when you have it connected do you get access to the Despatch menu on the Nuvi?

        If not, check list:

        Nuvi powered through rear connector.

FMI plugged into Nuvi side connector.

Correct serial port on the OT3 is set to Garmin

And Waypoint output in OT3 is on.

That's how I recall mine as being set - short of pulling it out of the car and onto the PC to confirm the settings.

        Cheers, Steve VK2ARS

          Steve,
Belay my last, I have the Garmin 010-10813-00 Mini-B Data Cable cable NOT the GTRANS 9F. This is what vI told to get. https://www.argentdata.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=90

Is there any difference between the two that you are aware of?

            Is this the cable?

            GTRANS-9F

If not, which one have you got?

And have you got the Nuvi powered through the rear connector and the OT3 from the Nuvi's side connection?

              Good morning,
I'm after some help with my APRS mobile set up. I've got a FT8800R, Garmin Nuvi 350 & Argent Data System OT 3 TNC.

The OT3 is operating the radio correctly. My problem is the garmin 350 is not displaying POI, receiving messages or sending any messages from the FMI (GPS unit). I have the correct Garmin cable from Argent Data Systems.

I have tried the configuration program for the Open Tracker 3 & cant get any of the test tones to work (I cant hear them form my speaker or another radio). Can anyone shed some light - I'm getting frustrated with it.

              Cheers,
