Everyone,

Preparations are gathering pace now for the Project Horus balloon team's
launch campaign being run out of Mildura on Sunday May 27th. In addition to
the previously announced flight, the group will now be launching an
additional balloon as well.

As a recap, the plans are as follows:

HORUS-26 - Balloon Repeater Flight

Launch Time: ~0800 AEST Sunday May 27th (2200Hrs UTC May 26th)

Voice Repeater: Uplink = 438.900 MHz NBFM - 123Hz CTCSS Tone access
required, Downlink = 147.500 MHz NBFM

APRS Beacon: 145.175 - VK5ARG-11

RTTY Telemetry: 434.075MHz 300Baud (decodable with FL-Digi software
and a sound card)

HORUS-27 - Video Camera Flight

Launch Time: ~0900 AEST Sunday May 27th (2300Hrs UTC May 26th)

APRS Beacon: 145.175 - VK5ARG-12

RTTY Telemetry: 434.650MHz 300Baud (TBC)

Flight times are estimated to be between 3-4 Hours and the footprint will
extend as far east as Sydney, west to Streaky Bay (South Australia) - south
to Burnie (VK7) and north nearly to VK4, with coverage in Melbourne,
Canberra and Adelaide simultaneously.

The Project Horus team are looking forward to meeting everyone at the AGM
and hope that those not in Mildura can still participate by making contacts
through the balloon repeater and by helping out with the beacon tracking on
the RTTY payloads and APRS.
