All,

Define "foul"

The Bureau has defined boundaries for various wx conditions that are
based on actual conditions and not perceived conditions. Also, most
forecast districts cover an extensive area and they cannot usually
predict very localised conditions.

Did you check the warnings at www.bom.gov.au to see what warnings were
posted for your state?

As an interested person involved with Community Radio (President,
Technician and Presenter) I can vouch for warnings being issued as
appropriate. My interest extends beyond my local area and state. I can
also vouch for those warnings appearing on aprs, once the base line
condition for each warning level is reached.

The aprs weather warnings provide an excellent "heads-up" but they are
not a substitute for actual warnings from BoM.

FWIW, I have an xastir screen at the studio for presenters that displays
various wx station observations, as well as Geoff's wx warnings, etc.
The station transmits data as vk2wet. The station is officially 2wet,
Tank FM.

Its hard to understand considering how crappy the WX has been for the last few days and how bad it must be out at sea for the Maritime traffic.
