Have a look at this relatively new igate software APRSG

It looks very simple and uncomplicated although I have not field tested it 
myself other than configuring it to see how easy it is to install.  I intend 
to do some detailed testing of it over the next few weeks but it looks 
promising - it can do X-port diging according to the website info.
