[OZAPRS] Feedback on VX-8

Hi Jack, Tony, Gerard & Richard, thanks for your  feedback on the
various models of VX-8 that you have used.

For me I'm looking for something to have in a small backpack while out
on afternoon walks with the kids, and something I can bring in the car
easily and attach to a mag base or similar. It sounds like the VX-8
should be ok, with limitations as noted across the models.

The battery life is probably more of an issue for me than say ease of
use for 2-way messaging, I'll have a think about it for a bit more
maybe, although the US -> AU conversion is pretty tempting at present!

The D72 that Richard pointed out also looks interesting, although if I
keep waiting for the next best thing I might be here a while :-)
