Hi Howard,

Looks like your sigs didn't make it in last night on 40m (or any other 
band). Notably, there was a CW contest on with DX stations operating 
continuously nearby in frequency. That would have made it more 
difficult. Propagation was reasonable last night and North Queensland 
was heard here. BTW, there are no gates operating on 20m currently.

The IGates on 40m do digipeat so you can quickly find out whether you're 
making it in. Check that you are on frequency by calibrating your radio 
against WWVH - aim to get within 10Hz of the true frequency. Also check 
that the radio is not being overdriven - the ALC should not come on and 
no compression should be used.
