[OZAPRS] Advice wanted, tracking a walking person

What about a Yaesu VX8R (any of the variants). They are all in one
especially if you get the GR version. I have found mine to be very
good and lots of fun to take bike riding/walking etc... And you can
receive aprs packets off the air and send messages as well.
