Thanks Ray, Dave.

Quite interesting to read that AR article. It helped to fill in details
of the timeline of the system.

VK2AWI BBS started on 1/6/87 located at the AEM offices in Wahroonga.
Prior to that it operated under the VK2AAK call, initially at Seven
Hills. On 1/12/87 the BBS was shifted to Dural and also changed from
147.600 to 144.850. At some point the callsign was changed to VK2WI and
a couple of years ago it was shifted to 145.100 to avoid QRM. There have
been several changes to the BBS software and O/S too, not to mention the
hardware. There were additional ports - 80m in the early days, and later
on a 70cm port for linking. A 40m port was added in the last few years.
Finally, the BBS closed on 7/12/10.

There is a note in AR suggesting that the article may have appeared in
AEM as well. Some may remember AEM - Australian Electronics Monthly
magazine which was edited by Roger Harrison.

Cheers ... Gerard, VK2IO
