usually NetBSD runs of every toaster. although there doesn't seem to be 
a port to the sheeva or the beagle. there is an arm port evbarm which 
i've use for embedded machines.

but i've now discovered that freebsd supports more than i386! who'd have 
thought ;)

haven't run freebsd in anger since i left TheBunker in 2002... erm and 
Ratbag in 2005. so might be worth a look again...
