[OZAPRS] APRS Messenger

APRS Messenger and traditional 300bps AFSK co-exist happily on the same
frequency. It's been the subject of much discussion and testing on various
other APRS forums.

AFSK Packet uses 1600Hz/1800Hz tones, whilst the PSK63 tones are at 2100Hz.
Although two simultaneously transmitted signals might sound to the ear
pretty horrid, your TNC will only hear the AFSK tones, and your PSK setup
will only hear the PSK tones..

More info and examples here: http://wa8lmf.net/APRS_PSK63/index.htm

We already have a handful of stations in VK that have been experimenting
with the PSK63 modes on 30m and also our local 40m APRS frequency with no
bad reports so far.

I wonder if anyone has noticed the presence/arrival of APRS messenger ?

I notice this web page from the US is recomending 10.147.6 USB for this with
a 2100 Hz shift.

Once the sun cycle starts to improve we will start to get this appearing on
the 30m APRS frequency.

What will this do to the 30m APRS 300 Bd net ?
