If you are a validated user on the APRS Servers, your packets will be
allowed back to RF. It depends then on the configuration of each IGate as
to whether it actually gets allowed through or not - most IGates will only
allow anything within a certain range originating from a certain prefix back
out to RF (e.g. any VK2* within 100km of the IGate). Some IGates then
restrict that further to only POSIT messages, or further still to MESSAGING
only.
If you are in Sydney, the local IGate from memory only allows POSIT and
MESSAGE types of VK2 stations within 100km out to RF (I could be wrong
though)

Do APRS weather reports sent from a WX to one of the APRS servers get gated
back out to local RF?
If so what is the criteria? Callsign prefix , Location?
