[OZAPRS] VK2 Network news

Happy new year to everybody!

 

We have a little more expansion about to occur in the VK2 APRS network, with
Mark VK2JMA in Tamworth in the process of setting up an IGate, and a new
WIDE digipeater at VK2RMO-1 to come online soon.  Following on from this
digi could be Armidale and other towns up towards Tenterfield - if that
comes off we'll have pretty good coverage up the New England Hwy into VK4 !

 

Also moving soon will be VK2CSU-1 in Wagga.  Once a working bee can be
arranged locally, the digipeater will be relocated to a new site, offering a
SUBSTANTIAL improvement in its coverage. It will also have a callsign change
to VK2RWG-1, as it will be co-located with the local voice repeater and
covered by that license.

 

We'll also be looking into prodding along the network expansion in the
Central West through Dubbo - hopefully 2009 will see this happen, as it will
link in nicely with the new Tamworth area network.
