Hi, got this from another list .. FYI

Hi Folks,

The failure radio at Fire Station # 9 has been received by Kenwood East
and the repair technician has identified a failure of the 9 VDC supply.

As it turns out the TM-D700A remote head (all Kenwood remote heads) has
this voltage present at "ALL TIMES" even when the transceiver is
turned-off. As long as 12VDC is connected to the transceiver the 9VDC
is present on the PINS of the RJ11 jack.

CAUTION: Do not remove the remote head or unplug the remote head cable
from the radio unless the 12VDC power supply has been turned off and the
voltage has drained down to zero VDC. The potential for momentary
shorts in the RJ11 connector are high. Kenwood has experience a number
of 9VDC power supply failures due to station operators disconnecting and
reconnecting the remote head while the 12VDC power supply is ON.

73,

Dave
