[OZAPRS] New to both Linux andXastir. Havingtrouble gettingthemaps into the maps dir

Shaun,

In the "Map" drop-down window there is an option for Enable Map Levels. 
Is that enabled, and more importantly, is Disable All Maps NOT selected?

What distro do you use? I use Debian which is very good with 
dependencies and will automatically install those other required 
programs, I believe other distros may not be as good so maybe something 
required by xastir isn't installed. For jpg maps it does need Imagemagic 
or Graphicsmagic

Try this to see if you have gm or im support. cd to your map directory 
and do
convert sydney_1.jpg  sydney_1.png
that should produce a png copy of the jpg map

I always compile my application so I'm a bit foggy on the package 
version of xastir, but last time I installed from package it worked fine.
