Ray,

In your case, your station would ignore the WIDE2-1 portion and gate
directly to the Internet.  The path should still be transmitted by the
mobiles though - if the only HF gate that receives a posit is not an IGate,
then the path will be valid for on-forwarding to a VHF IGate.

Geoff,

You have confirmed my thoughts re WIDE2-1.

Is it reasonable then to assume that a HF Igate (not a HF/VHF gateway) 
has no need to add WIDE2-1?
