It'll be interesting to see how well it's able to get positions to
Globalstar at 400 mW with that rather pathetic-looking antenna.  And
here's an interesting quote:

"SPOT says that the actual transmit power is comparable to the
Globalstar sat phones, but that SPOT uses twice the spectrum, using
spread-spectrum technology, for better performance."

Whatever happened to Eb/N0?
