Andrew,
Gamma match works really well for a single band quad. I have a copy of
Orr's Quad book which goes into matching details quite well, email me off
list if you want the details.
For my HF quad I use 300 ohm open wire feeder, but at 2m this will may not
work well. Presumably you are chasing sats?
http://www.antennex.com/ (particularly L.B. Cebik's articles) has a
collection of articles on quads, concentrating on feeding the antennas
properly.

I have an 8 element quad that needs finishing.
What is the best way to feed the driven element ?
It has the break half way up a side, not on the corner.
Tranmission line is 50 ohms
