The beacon would not bounce around if the path did not include any RELAY
or
WIDEs wouldn't it? If you can't hear the repeater Digi direct, then you
probably can't hear the FM voice repeater either, and so it is not of much
interest.

Even on lower power there would be people around Redcliffe/Caboolture that
could monitor the telemetry directly without any digis. I think the idea
of
digi beacons being digipeated is just silly. If you can't work it direct,
you
can't work it!

I believe the new Kenwood D710 mobile will automatically tune it's
secondary
channel to frequencies given in beacons.

Fewer beacons, and no repeating of beacons from digis would really help
things
in SEQ.
