I guess you could setup a second alternative freq in the digis, with 
remote changeover switching. Running an event? Simply beacon it on 
the national freq for a week before, to alert everyone.
ANY event using Amateur Radio promotes the hobby, to our eventual benefit.
Surely making a simple path change to your station, for a weekend or 
so.......ain't too hard, its not the end of the World ;-)
