[OZAPRS] Xastir File Conversion

Ok Ross,

Lets start at the beggining.

1. Make a directory to play in and move into that directory.

cd \
mkdir maps
cd maps

2. Save the script and the .map file to the maps directory.

linux:/maps # ll
total 13
drwxr-xr-x   2 root root  112 Mar  4 22:57 .
drwxr-xr-x  34 root root  800 Mar  4 22:57 ..
-rwxr--r--   1 root root 3803 Mar  4 22:57 J08_2.map
-rwxr--r--   1 root root 5524 Mar  4 22:57 ozi2geo.pl

3. Deteremine where your perl (if it exists) lives on linux, using the
"which" command.

linux:/data # which perl
/usr/bin/perl      (we will be using /usr/bin/perl)

3. call perl as the programming language and run the script along with the
.map file, in the maps directory.

linux:/maps # /usr/bin/perl ./ozi2geo.pl J08_2.map
*** J08_2.map ***
        OziExplorer Map Data File Version 2.2

Done ! - your new .geo file has been created.

linux:/maps # ll
total 17
drwxr-xr-x   2 root root  144 Mar  4 22:58 .
drwxr-xr-x  34 root root  800 Mar  4 22:57 ..
-rw-r--r--   1 root root  209 Mar  4 22:58 J08_2.geo
-rwxr--r--   1 root root 3803 Mar  4 22:57 J08_2.map
-rwxr--r--   1 root root 5524 Mar  4 22:57 ozi2geo.pl

4. Now place the image file and the .geo file in the xastir map directory
and re-index (or restart) xastir.
