As far as I'm aware the CTCSS change is standard throughout the at least
the
Eastern part of the content. I'll add the continent to the web page etc.

Most of the repeaters here have no tone access. In the past CTCSS was only
used for repeater linking. A single tone of 123Hz was chosen as the
defacto
standard so people with ex-commercial radios with single tone tone boards
could access all the links. Now due the recent increase in the popularity
of
commercial radio our repeaters are experiencing RF interference that is
hard
to remove without the use of CTCSS. It was found that in a few instances
the
123Hz tone was not blocking the interference so the tone was changed. (I
think this was done in consultation with the states an the Wireless
Institute of Australia)

Changing the tone for APRS will allow the users of APRS with ex-commercial
radios to use both the repeaters and APRS voice alert.
