Normally a home station might use WIDE2-2 and cover out 2 digis
in all directions. If he lived in the middle of a ZONE and it
took 3 hops to hit all in the ZONE for a special ZONE exercise
of ZONE communications requirement, then WIDE3-3 and ZONE3-3
would do the same thing. But if the home station lived on the
edge of the ZONE, he woud still use WIDE2-2 normally just so
that he is in communications with his surrounding local area.
But if it took 5 hops from his corner of the ZONE to hit other
statoins in the opposite corner of his ZONE then, he would not
want to use WIDE5-5 just to communicate during that event.
He would use ZONE5-5 so that all in the special ZONE net could
hear him, but his packets did NOT flood 4 or 5 hops into
adjacent zones.
