[OZAPRS] information on APRS in Australia.

Hello Mike,

Your ISS aprs sigs would probably only just make it to the east coast, I
have had only several VK6 contacts via ISS, and none yet to VK8 (lack of
ops).
I am in VK3, just west of Melbourne.
But I believe there is an active ISS Satgate/Igate near Adelaide in VK5,
and, I also believe that there is an active Satgate/Igate in VK6 as well.
Your aprs sigs would more than likely end up going through one of those.
If they are offline, you will have to wait until ISS is to your East and
low
on the horizon.
Have a play with your sat tracking software and watch the passes over VK5,

while keeping an eye on the ring of contact.
Also, if you have HF, consider using HF for getting out your position.

I just found this link in my favourites and had a giggle, looks like I
made
the grade and someone noticed. :-)

Cheers and good luck my friend.
73's, Kevin, VK3UKF.

The day that I stop learning, will be the same day that I die.
