<Subject: [OZAPRS] High altitude ballooning in Oz
<
<Hi folks,
<
<Does anyone know of a person or group that has flown or tried
<to fly an "amateur radio high altitude balloon" here in
<Australia? If you aren't familiar with it, the idea is to send
<a weather balloon into "near space", altitudes as high as
<100,000 feet (30ish KM) with a small payload (perhaps a couple
<of KG) using APRS to track the flight. There is quite a lot
<of activity in the US (see www.arhab.org or
<http://www.universetoday.com/am/publish/
<satellites_budget.html?1912006).
<
<I'm quite interested in doing this, but I'd like to leverage
<any experience others in Australia may already have.
<
<Thanks,
<Neil Justusson
