The 9V battery had not been replaced in a couple of years and had leaked
a bit, not on the GPS board luckily. I've put in a pair of AAs now.

It seems to lock in 35 seconds now when stationary. Better than my eTrex
handheld, and quite acceptable.

I wonder how much loading the RS-232 output can handle. I'd like to
connect it to both the D700 and sometimes my iPAQ PDA (so that I can run
TomTom and Geocaching software etc). One way to find out..
