Gday,

The power supply at VK3CV-1 failed again over the weekend. Hopefully it
can
be fixed this week and the digi will be back on air soon.

You may notice a reduction in out bound IGate traffic from VK3SB-1 in
regional areas.

UHF APRS operational in Melbourne.

The UHF APRS system is operational on 439.100Mhz at 1200bd. Traffic from
2mtrs and VK* is IGated to UHF via the UHF TX/RX IGate VK3TBN-10.

There are 2 Digipeaters running on APRS UHF, VK3MY-3 & VK3TBN-10 cover
large
areas of the Northern and Eastern metro area. If the outage at VK3CV-1 has
reduced the traffic on your system why not try APRS UHF.

Digipeater being decommissioned.

VK3RBH-1 near Bendigo is being decommissioned this week as the digipeater
at
Mt Alexander VK3RCV-1 has superseded it by providing better all-round
coverage of Central Victoria. If you are in the Central Victoria area
please
check your path and change it to VK3RCV-1,WIDE if required.

You will have probably read on this list that there is a lot of HF
activity
on the bans at present, this is great to see. Keep an eye out for
VK5EX-15,
who is traveling up to Darwin for a holiday. If your in Darwin and
interested in APRS HF why not start an HF Gateway for better APRS HF
coverage in the top end. For details on APRS HF visit
http://www.aprs.net.au/hf_aprs_information.htm

There is also a great deal of interest in APRS on ISS recently. Visit
http://www.aprs.net.au/sat_aprs_information.htm for more details.

Cheers

Richard
