WICEN & APRS

Over this weekend WICEN Victoria is involved with the Rally of Melbourne.
This is a major car rally held in north east of Melbourne.

This year they are trialling APRS on the local rally packet network. WICEN
operators in the event who have trackers will be active during the
weekend.

 

APRS Voice net

A new 80mtr net is starting next Wednesday night at 8:30pm.

Come and join in.  
Meet the people behind the icons on the map.

Chat and ask question about any aspect of APRS.

The frequency at this stage is 3.615Mhz (-QRM)

 

APRS Frequency Change

Planning and logistics for this project is well are underway.

Licensing of 145.175Mhz for 2 repeater sites has been requested from ACMA
and we are waiting on there response.

When we have the licences the crystals will be ordered. 

If every thing goes to plan the first zone will be cut over to the new in
late October or early November.
