[OZAPRS] RE: APRS server data corruption

This is a well known 'issue' with the MIC-E protocol. From memory there is
an option in many trackers to 'force printable' as with much software.

There are I think a couple of characters that are not printable ASCII in
the
MIC-E... And some systems do not like that...

I just saw something interesting.

I heard a station via RF and his symbol was a car.

A few seconds later I got the data back through the internet
and his symbol had been changed to a dot.

I have seen this a few times now and have not been able to work it out.

Now I understand. Something is modifying the APRS pos report.

APRSD was in the chain.
