[OZAPRS] 145.175 MHz and 100Mb LAN interference

The other thing to watch is birdies from the TNC. Some TNC2's have a
trimcap
that can move the birdie. Others need a cap to move the birdie to another
frequency. The frequency is usually about 145.150 MHz or so...

I just scanned that region here... I have about 4db difference in
background
levels on the 144/145 MHz band. 145.175 MHz was up about 3db from a few
hundred Hz either side, but nothing really major. This was right next to
the
server. I am running 10/100 with a 24 port VLAN hub.

Yep! I run 2m packet on 144.9, 147.575 and 145.175 and all 3 are affected
by 100Mbit switching gear. I found that I had to put what I could on a
10Mbit hub and swap out my plastic-cased cheapie switch with a
well-grounded metal cased switch (like the Netgear FS-108). Along with
ferrites on *everything* it greatly reduced, but didn't eliminate the
noise.
