Hi Andrew I have the same problem I solved it by putting clamp on ferrite
cores Altronics has them on both end of the remote cable plus on the DC
lead right at the rig. Please let me know if this fix’s your problem.

Im using ( going to use ) a TT3 on HF. Ive got it going on VHF all ok ,
but Ive still got to sort out my problem with too much RF floating around,
doing some BAD things to the 706. We'll see how it all wokrs when I get
these problems sorted..
