[OZAPRS] FW: HF Gate Update.....

Hi Tony,
The path rha rga cqu is marginal.
Currently cqu is on 144.725 while the 145.175 digi is being tested.  This
gives a link to Rocky. (rga rar).
The APRS digi will be moved to another location in the next week.  It is
currently on a good site for the 
harbour and around Gladstone city but is poor on the highways.
RGA itself is a long way out of town and is only reached by high power
mobiles (50w) and has poor 
coverage to the south (mountains in the way).  RGA is good to Biloela but
does not reach Moura.  When 
Frank 4CAU was travelling south he was tracked into Monto. That was using
the dm 700.
Only when the coverage is suitable will the change of igate be made to
145.175 although it might move for 
a day or so for testing purposes.
The next issue will be the link to Rocky and Tieri when the freq change
occurs here.  I suspect as an 
interim arrangement I will cross freq repeat at home to allow Larry and
Rocky operators to reach the igate.
It is all interesting.
