[OZAPRS] MFJ1270 question

Howdy Folks,
 
I've been having troubles with the MFJ that runs the VK1 Igate for about 3
months now, and I'm really not sure what's going on with it...
 
It can run fine for two weeks at times, othertimes it'll start playing up
30 minutes after the last reset..  What's happening, is that it'll be
sitting there relaying packets quiet happily with aprsd, then all of a
sudden it'll reset itself and drop back into command mode, which of course
stops it relaying packets... something like this:

(BTW, yes, that's correct, we hear the sydney Igate via Bateman's Bay on a
good night, so ours going off-air isn't always a major catastrophe ;)
 
It first started about 9 months ago, while the MFJ+FT8100R were running
off a deep-cycle car battery which was permantently connected to a car
battery charger (one of those ones from super-cheap-auto that knows how to
trickle-charge).  When it started doing it, I thought maybe the battery
was on the way out, so borrowed a fairly hefty power supply from Peter
(1NPW).  It then ran perfectly for about six months, which brings us up to
about 3 months ago when it started doing its little tricks again.  
 
I've ruled out interruptions to the power supply, as the PSU is now
plugged into an APC SmartUPS 1000 which runs the Igate machine and it's DB
server machine (3,082,249 VK/ZL packets logged now! :), which in turn is
plugged into a 6KVA UPS which runs the server room in general and provides
surge protection..
 
Soooo, has anyone seen an MFJ just spontaneously reboot before?  Any
thoughts on how to stop it?  Or is it time I finally got the soundmodem
stuff happening? (I did have it working when I was using an FM92 for the
Igate, but when i moved the Igate into the office, I found the FM92 was
rather deaf when surrounded by all the noise that 80-something servers
inside a faraday cage create.. :(    - strange one there.. - my D7 with
its handheld antenna inside the faraday cage had clearer reception than
the FM92 with 20m of RG58 running to a 6dB whip on the roof of the
building!)
 
Any thoughts muchly appreciated - I've given up on driving into the office
at 2am to fix it ;)
