Hi All,

To keep you informed on APRS.

The VK3MY Gate has been down for the past 2 weeks (both 7Mhz & 10Mhz) as
strong winds blow down the HF antennas. Ross said he will put them back up
when as soon as weather and time permit.

As you may know one of the VK/ZL APRS IS (Internet Server) servers was
closed down some time ago leaving only one server in VK2 to take the load
of
both aprs.net.au and second.aprs.net.au with no backup should it fail. The
good news is that a new APRS IS has been set up in Melbourne to provide
backup. The new server is configured exactly the same as the VK2 server
(same ports etc) so you can set up UI-View32 to auto connect to one or the
other with redundant fail over. The new server has take over
second.aprs.net.au
