During the day time, VK4VP-4 and VK3OA-4 would be difficult to reach in summer on 40m - they are over 800km away.</div><div>This afternoon there has been an E-layer present which may have assisted propagation to my IGate, or it may just have been ground wave. I ran some simulations and predictions, and the only thing I can come up with is that there was some E layer blanketing and your antenna (or the receiver antenna) wouldnt support the low E layer propagation angles efficently...<br>

That's what I was using initially, but my SBC's under-clocked CPU wasn't<br>
coping too well with the extra load so I commented out the 7@30 decoders<br>
to use the default 3@30Hz - and that is what caused the incorrect tone<br>
pair to be selected.<br>
