<p>I recently travelled around Oz (well up the middle and then down the west coast returning to Melbourne across the bottom).</p>
<p><br>

<p>I used APRSDroid and a PK232 (Bluetooth RS232 adapter) coupled with a Codan X2.</p>
<p><br>
</p>
<p>I am only a standard, so had to stick to 40m. I had more luck pinging into APRS-IS. We are really limited in 40cm iGates.</p>
<p><br>
</p>
<p>I also submitted patches to APRSDroid to bring in compressed packets and used that rather than the uncompressed packet model it uses out of the Google Play store.</p>
<p><br>
</p>
<p>Worked well when I could hit an iGate.</p>
<p><br>
</p>
<p>I rarely received stuff, I probably needed a more stable TNC.</p>
